Résumé
Background
Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a major cause of morbidity& disability among patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).Objectives: To assess the risk for development of diabetic foot ulcer among patients with T2DM and to study the association between selected socio-demographic& clinical variables with the risk of diabetic foot ulcer.
Methods
A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 250 patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus attending the Endocrinology OPD of a tertiary care hospital in Jammu. Risk assessment for diabetic foot ulcer was carried out using Inlow’s 60-second diabetic foot screening tool. Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-square test to determine associations and odds ratios were calculated to assess the strength of association between risk factors and development of DFU.
