Abstract
Introduction
Diabetes mellitus (DM) has a high prevalence and can lead to chronic kidney disease (CKD), a major cause of morbidity.
Objective
To understand the knowledge held by people with DM regarding its relationship with CKD in a municipality in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. Methodology: A descriptive, exploratory field study using a mixed-methods approach, conducted with 14 individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) registered at a Basic Health Unit. Semi-structured interviews were used, featuring closed-ended questions to characterize the participants and open-ended questions to identify their knowledge and perceptions.
