Abstract
This article aimed to synthesize the scientific evidence regarding advances in breast implant techniques and their impacts on surgical safety and aesthetic results. The methodology consisted of an integrative, qualitative, and exploratory review of 10 studies published between 2015 and 2025, identified in the SciELO, PubMed/MEDLINE, VHL, and Google Scholar databases. The results indicate that the use of cohesive silicone gel and polyurethane coatings significantly reduced capsular contracture and ruptures. The incorporation of nanotechnology and bioactive surfaces favored tissue integration. Regarding techniques, the video-assisted transaxillary route and the Rapid Recovery (R24R) protocol stand out, optimizing postoperative recovery. 3D planning tools were crucial for aligning expectations and reducing dissatisfaction. It is concluded that breast surgery has evolved into a high-precision and biosafe intervention, balancing natural aesthetics with long-term biological safety, although the heterogeneity of studies suggests the need for further primary research and rigorous clinical follow-up.
