Résumé
Background/Objectives: This study aimed to compare oral citicoline 500 mg/homotaurine 50 mg/nicotinamide 54 mg/pyrroloquinoline quinone 5 mg (CIT/HOMO/B3/PQQ) with citicoline 500 mg alone (CIT500) for contrast sensitivity (CS), vision-related quality of life (QoL), and reading performance in early, medically controlled primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
Methods
In this prospective, randomized, active-controlled, two-period crossover study, 40 patients (80 eyes) received one supplement for four months before switching to the alternative for four months without washout. Assessments at baseline, month 4 (M4), and month 8 used the Spaeth-Richman Contrast Sensitivity (SPARCS) test, Glaucoma Quality of Life-15 (GQL-15) questionnaire, and digital MNREAD. Bayesian hierarchical linear mixed-effects models evaluated longitudinal changes and between-sequence differences in change from baseline to M4.
