Résumé
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a compression neuropathy of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel, causing pain, numbness, and functional impairment. This study aimed to determine the effect of Neuromuscular Tapping (NMT) and Nerve and Tendon Gliding Exercise on pain reduction in CTS patients at RS Awal Bros Pekanbaru. A quantitative quasi-experimental study with a one-group pre-test and post-test design was applied. A sample of 20 CTS patients was selected using total sampling. Pain intensity was evaluated via the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after receiving intervention twice weekly for three weeks. The Shapiro-Wilk test indicated non-normally distributed data (p < 0.05). Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test showed a decrease in mean pain scores from 4.65 at pre-test to 2.40 at post-test with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, combined NMT and Nerve and Tendon Gliding Exercise significantly reduce pain in CTS patients.
