Résumé
Background
Diabetes mellitus is a systemic metabolic disease associated with progressive microvascular and tissue injury in the kidneys, retina, and myocardium.
Objective
To synthesize the pathoanatomical and histopathological manifestations of diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, and cardiomyopathy and relate their structural features to clinical dysfunction. Materials and Methods: A narrative clinical–morphological analysis of published biopsy, autopsy, and histopathological descriptions was conducted, supported by educational observations of microscopic sections and autopsy material. The analysis focused on hematoxylin–eosin, periodic acid–Schiff, and Van Gieson staining patterns and established morphological classifications.
